Article:	Thursday's Daily Dose Mejia leaves NIU Freshman wide receiver Chase Mejia has left the Northern Illinois football team, Mejia's father, Jeff Mejia confirmed in a phone interview. “He's not on the team anymore,” Jeff Mejia said. Chase Mejia enrolled at NIU in the spring semester after graduating early from Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Mo. Mejia participated in spring football and at the time was hoping to avoid a redshirt year for the 2008 season.
