Huskies make debut A pair of former Northern Illinois baseball players made their professional debut Wednesday night. Right-hander Trevor Feeney threw two innings of scoreless relief for the Oneonta Tigers in the Class A Short Season New York-Penn League in a 6-4 loss to the Vermont Lake Monsters. Shortstop Bobby Stevens, a member of the Bluefield Orioles was 0-3 against the Elizabethton Twins in the Rookie Appalachian League. Stevens reached base after being hit by a pitch in the 5-2 loss. The Chicago native was hit by a pitch 27 times in 2008 in a Huskies uniform. Johnson earns top honor DeKalb native Marc Johnson was named Special Olympics Illinois Outstanding Coach of the Year. He was honored at a reception held June 13 before the Special Olympics Illinois Summer Games Opening Ceremonies at Illinois State University. Johnson, who has been involved in the Special Olympics for 10 years, is the overall coach and coordinator for every sport offered within Opportunity House and DeKalb-Sycamore Association for Special Recreation.
Telling number 3 Times Sycamore High School graduate Chrissie Feldmann advanced to the IHSA Class 2A State Meet in track and field. Feldmann was a qualifier in the triple jump in 2003 and 2004 and the long jump in 2004.
They said it “This award is a little more personal because it's the best of the best in Sycamore. I'm among the greatest athletes in Sycamore High School. It's more on a personal note. It's meaningful because I know now that the town of Sycamore really thought a lot of me.”

Harris signs extension (AP) - The Chicago Bears say they've signed defensive tackle Tommie Harris to a four-year contract extension. Thursday night's announcement means the three-time Pro Bowler will remain with the team through 2012. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. Harris started 56 of his 60 career NFL games and recorded 208 tackles during his four seasons with the Bears. A 2004 first-round pick, Harris has had 13 sacks in the last two seasons - ranking him second among NFL defensive tackles.
