DeKalb girl will compete at American Miss Illinois pageant

Edith Reynolds, 10, of DeKalb, has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Illinois pageant to be held Aug. 3-4 at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles. The pageant is for girls ages 10 to 12, and the winner receives $1,000, an official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses and air transportation to compete in the national pageant at Disneyland in California. Edith, who attends Brooks Elementary School, is the daughter of Mary and Ron Reynolds. Her activities include Special Olympics - bowling, soccer, swimming, softball, Girl Scouts, dancing and cheerleading. Edith also enjoys helping other people, reading to younger children, singing in the church choir, camping, riding her bike, playing basketball in her driveway and being with her family. She loves to compete in activities. Edith's sponsors include family, friends and Dr. Steven Glasgow. She also is looking for others to help her make this dream come true.
