First United Preschool ventures into community

DeKALB - The First United Preschool and Daycare Pre-K students have been studying the community around them, and many local businesses opened their doors and hearts to the students. First United Preschool and Daycare went to Rosita's Mexican Restaurant, where they were treated to beef and cheese tacos. Miss Rosa taught the students some words in Spanish and showed them some paintings done by Northern Illinois University art majors. They learned that the center of towns in Mexico always have a plaza and a church. Students also had a field trip to the Lincoln Inn. Mr. Bill and Miss Jonnie took them on a tour of the restaurant, where they saw everything from the special fire extinguishers to chefs cooking. At the end of the tour, students lear
