DeKALB - For the fourth year in a row, the Aktion Club of Opportunity House and the Kishwaukee Kiwanis have met for competition and fellowship at Bowl for Kids' Sake. This year, the clubs were joined by K-Kids Clubs from both Tyler and Lincoln Elementary schools. Together, more than 30 Kiwanis members and volunteers were present and enjoyed the day at Mardi Gras Lanes, raising a combined total of more than $2,500 for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program of Family Service Agency. The Kiwanis International focus is on &#8220Changing the children of the world one child at a time, and changing communities one community at a time.” Each of the local Kiwanis organizations continue to grow and encourage participation at all levels. Sponsored groups include: K-Kids (Elementary), Builders Clubs (Jr. High), Key Club (High School), Circle K (College) and Aktion Club (persons with disabilities). All sponsored groups are beginning to work together on fundraising projects, strengthening the collaboration of the Kiwanis family and creating a strong value of service to others. For information about any of the local Kiwanis clubs, call the Kiwanis District Office at 111 S. Second St., #303, at (815) 754-1020 or e-mail iioffice@ii-kiwanis.org for specific individuals to contact.
