DeKALB - Vivian McCain, director of Healthcare Development at Pine Acres Rehab & Living Center in DeKalb, was thrilled after learning she was the lucky winner of the Resource Bank Classics 2006 Pinwheel Quilt. The quilt was made to benefit The Pay-It-Forward House in Sycamore. McCain was filled with excitement, stating, &#8220I have never won a raffle prize in my life.” This year marks the 10th year the Classics Club has made the hand-sewn quilts to benefit worthy causes. Sally Scott, manager of the Classics Club, presented Mary Lou Eubanks, executive director of The Pay-It-Forward House, the $2,400 check. The Pay-It-Forward House in Sycamore is an organization providing daytime respite and overnight accommodations to families of patients receiving medical treatment at Kindred Hospital. McCain said, &#8220As a health care employee, I am so pleased that the health care industry and the Pay-It-Forward House will benefit from the proceeds of this quilt. What a worthy cause.” The Classics members will begin working on the 2007 quilt very soon.
