NIU student dies in suburban hit-and-run

EVERGREEN PARK - A 23-year-old Northern Illinois University student was killed in a hit-and-run accident Sunday in the south suburbs while reportedly fighting with another woman in the street. Brittnii Sutton, a general studies major, was a passenger in a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox being driven by 21-year-old Brandi E. Rose of Chicago, according to an Evergreen Park police report. The women were southbound in the 9700 block of South Pulaski Road around 5:45 a.m. when they stopped the car, got out and began tussling in the northbound lanes of the street.
