Card makers to do good deeds for Pay-It-Forward HouseDeKALB - Local rubber-stamping hobbyists are invited to attend Spring Inkspiration, a daylong event on March 18 at the First Lutheran Church, 324 N. Third St. Experienced rubber-stampers and those new to the craft could be inspired by the hand-stamped projects at Spring Inkspiration. The event features 15 make-and-take projects, personalized instruction, an illustrated instruction book of all projects, a free Stampin' Up! stamp set from the upcoming Spring Mini Catalog, a boxed lunch, hundreds of hand-stamped samples and a chance to win door prizes. Participants in Spring Inkspiration will receive all materials to create 15 beautifully embellished, hand-stamped projects including greeting cards, a scrapbook page and more. Numerous stamp craft techniques will be featured in these one-of-a-kind projects created by experienced demonstrators. Participants also can choose to swap their own hand-stamped card creations with the work of other stampers at the event. In addition, they are asked to bring at least one unsigned birthday, thank-you or “thinking of you” card to benefit guests of Pay-It-Forward House. Pay-It-Forward House is a nonprofit organization that provides a “home away from home” for the loved ones of patients receiving medical treatment at Kindred Hospital in Sycamore. Since the length of their stay is unknown, guests might appreciate the chance to send a card to someone they care about. The event is hosted by Pure Inkspiration, a registered Stampin' Up! group composed of 15 area Stampin' Up! demonstrators. The registration fee is $50. Seating is limited, and registration deadline is Tuesday. To print a registration packet for the event, visit home.comcast.net/~dlburgin.
