DCCF supports Pay-It-Forward House

SYCAMORE - Recently, the Pay-It Forward House received a $1,500 grant from the DeKalb County Community Foundation to cover the cost of living room furniture at the nonprofit hospitality house. DCCF Program Specialist Dan Templin presented the check to Steering Committee Member Craig Mathey, who gave him a guided tour of the facility and explained the importance of such a valuable resource to family members and friends of the patients at Kindred Hospital. "I was very proud to accept the check on behalf of the organization," Mathey said. "Before opening our doors, we received a lot of support from the community-at-large, but receiving this grant demonstrates the formal support we've been garnering during the last few months. This gift represents so much more than the furniture we will be purchasing. It is a testimony to the solid values held by the people in DeKalb County who recognize and support the work we do: Assisting others during a time of need." The DCCF is a vehicle for donors who wish to better the community now and in the future. It provides flexible, efficient and tax-effective ways to ensure charitable gifts achieve the greatest possible impact. The foundation holds a collection of permanent endowment funds that offer a continuous source of income for a wide variety of charitable purposes and makes it possible for people of all means to act philanthropically, regardless of the size of their donation.
