Silver Celebration: Week of activities set for Oak Crest's 25th anniversary

DeKALB - This week will be filled with interesting and entertaining events for all residents at Oak Crest DeKalb Area Retirement Center in celebration of the center's 25 years of service to the area retirement community. It was in April 1980 that Oak Crest opened its doors to its first residents. Some of those residents still live at Oak Crest. A small committee of residents, staff and administration has worked on plans and arrangements for special events for residents each day this week. Each day, residents will receive a copy of The Silver Star Gazette in their mailboxes to announce the daily events. Residents and staff have submitted artwork and articles to highlight their talents.
