GENOA – Police have a suspect in a stabbing that happened Monday in the 400 block of West Main Street, Genoa, according to a news release.
At 7:19 p.m., Genoa police responded for a call about a 61-year-old man who had been stabbed in the chest at his residence, according to the release.
The release said he was stabbed by a 39-year-old Genoa woman.
The man was taken to OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford with wounds that were not life-threatening and was released, according to the release.
The woman was taken to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb for an unrelated medical reason, according to the release, and she was admitted.
According to the release, Genoa police contacted the DeKalb County State’s Attorney’s Office and plan to charge the woman with aggravated domestic battery and aggravated battery with a weapon.
