Save the dates for a ‘twisted’ Christmas tale

Indian Valley Theatre will present “A Twisted Christmas Carol” at
7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 and 7 and 2 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Sandwich Opera House, 140 E. Railroad St. in Sandwich.

“A Twisted Christmas Carol” is a spoof of Charles Dickens’ classic story, “A Christmas Carol.” It’s Christmas Eve in a small west Texas town and cantankerous barbecue joint owner Buford Johnson gets in an argument with his wife, Darla, and tells her he’s skipping Christmas.

He storms out of the restaurant, goes four-wheeling in his pickup, gets hit by a twister, rolls his truck and goes into a coma.

Buford comes back in his dream, where he’s visited by ex-business partner, Hank Walker, who plays the ghost of Christmas past, present and future. Hank takes Buford (Scrooge) on a journey similar to that in Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” only Texas style.

Tickets cost $12 and are available online at indianvalleytheatre.com. For questions or information, email info@indianvalleytheatre.com or call IVT at 815-786-4878.
