It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. At least it is at the old train depot, 475 DeKalb Ave. in Sycamore, as members of the Kishwaukee Valley Art League prepare for the annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Market.
The market will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 16, and provide shoppers the opportunity to purchase unique holiday gifts and décor items made by a number of local artists. Visitors will be able to purchase items in a variety of mediums including oil, watercolor and acrylic paintings; photography and scanography; colored pencil; pen and ink; jewelry; pottery; fabric; paper sculpture; gourd art; note cards; wood sculpture; and leather. In addition to original gift selections, several artists will offer holiday ornaments and décor items.
Admission is free. The Holiday Arts and Crafts Market offers shoppers the opportunity to browse creative gift ideas, meet and chat with the artists, and enjoy refreshments provided by KVAL members.
KVAL is committed to promoting local artists and dedicated to the development of upcoming artists in the Kishwaukee Valley area. Hy-Vee and Waste Management are patron members of the organization. For information, visit www.kval-nfp.org.
