PRAIRIE FLOWER

Thanks for another
successful Candy Day

To the Editor:

The Sycamore Lions would like to thank local businesses and the community for another successful Candy Day. Your generosity has helped to address local concerns of the visually and hearing impaired, along with help to provide 18,000 visually- and hearing-impaired children and adults in Illinois with critically needed services.

Your contributions will make the following projects possible: Camp Lions for Children and Adults, Low Vision Program, Mobile Diabetic Retinopathy/Macular Program, Mobile Hearing Unit, Social Services and Referral, LIF Used Hearing Aid Collection & Hearing Aid Bank, Used Eyeglass Collections and LIF Fund for Emergency.

The club recognizes five area businesses for their support during this year’s Candy Day collections for allowing the Sycamore Lions members to collect donations at their premises during Candy Day: Elleson’s Bakery, Hy-Vee Food Store, Walgreens, Hometown Realty Group and Parkway Restaurant.

The Sycamore Lions Club would like to also thank the local businesses that helped underwrite the cost of the candy for this year’s event and the community’s residents for their generous donations. This year’s fundraising effort generated more than $7,900 to be used in support of the Lions vision and hearing programs.
