JOLIET – A DeKalb man was arrested on charges of criminal sexual assault and abuse involving a minor, police said.
About 3 a.m. Tuesday, Brady Bui, 23, of the 800 block of Lucinda Avenue was booked into the Will County jail.
Bui faces charges of criminal sexual assault by force, aggravated criminal sexual abuse and aggravated battery.
Aurora police spokesman Paris Lewbel said Bui is accused of having sexual contact with a minor. Bui was investigated after an incident involving the minor during the summer of 2018, Lewbel said.
Lewbel said Bui was arrested Monday by agents with the U.S. Marshals’ Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force at his home in DeKalb.
A Will County judge signed a $150,000 warrant for Bui’s arrest Oct. 8.
The same day, the judge ordered Bui’s criminal case to be sealed from public view because it involved an ongoing criminal investigation, court records show.
The case was unsealed Tuesday and Bui appeared in court, where he was assigned a Will County assistant public defender.
His next court date has been scheduled for Wednesday.
The most serious charge Bui faces is criminal sexual assault by force, which is punishable by four to 15 years in prison.
