DEKALB – For those who want to try flying a drone, program a robot or have fun with virtual reality technology, there’s a way to make that happen.

Northern Illinois University will host its Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 19, at the NIU Convocation Center, 1525 W. Lincoln Highway, DeKalb.

Visitors of all ages can learn about human anatomy, witness a weather balloon launch, use forensic science to solve a simulated crime and more, according to a news release.

The event is free and open to the public and with no registration required. Parking is free, and the Route 16 and 2L HuskieLine buses will add a STEM Fest stop for the day. The normal bus rates apply, with bus rides free with current NIU One card.
