Sycamore Lions present awards

At a recent meeting of the Sycamore Lions Club, Al John (right) and Peter Springmire (left) were presented with the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award.John and Springmire have served in most board positions including president and have regularly served in committee positions. The award is named after Melvin Jones who, in 1917, started what is now Lions International. It is now the largest service organization in the world, with 46,000 clubs in every corner of the globe and 1.4 million members. This past year, more than 100 million people benefited from the organization. Springmire and John are pictured with Lions District 1J Governor Jerome Perez.
