Sycamore police investigating body found in wooded area

SYCAMORE – Sycamore police said the investigation is ongoing into why a body was found in a wooded area between the Sycamore Meadows apartments and McDonald’s.

About6 p.m. Thursday police were called to 1640 DeKalb Avenue for a body found in the wooded area behind the building. The address is an building currently for rent, immediately north of McDonald’s.

Deputy Police Chief Steve Cook said there was no indication of any danger to the public, but couldn’t say anymore because the incident is still under investigation.

By 7:30 p.m. Thursday, the police tape that had encircled parking lots and the wooded area had been taken down, but Cook said the investigation would be going on into the night.
