Police: Man, 39, threatened police officer

SYCAMORE – A DeKalb man is out on bond after police said he threatened a police officer while he was being booked.

Christopher L. Jackson, 39, of the 800 block of Ridge Drive, was charged with aggravated assault Saturday, according to court documents.

If convicted, Jackson could face up to three years in prison.

According to court documents, DeKalb police were booking Jackson when he made threats to the officer. He said he was going to wait for the officer in the parking lot and at their home, and threatened violence to the officer.

At one point, Jackson approached the officer in an aggressive manner, according to court documents, and officers had to restrain him. The officers said they believed Jackson was going to cause harm and had to draw a stun gun on Jackson, according to court documents.

Judge Phillip Montgomery appointed the public defender to represent Jackson, He noted Jackson had nine felonies on his record. He ordered Jackson released on his signature. Jackson is due in court at 9 a.m. Nov. 1.
