DeKALB – As far as Andrew Starr is concerned, a step up to the FBS level was warranted based on what he had achieved as a redshirt junior lineman at FCS program Sacred Heart in Connecticut.
“The reason why I got the accolades that I did was because I was dominating it. That’s not me boasting, that’s not me trying to boast. That’s just my last year there,” Starr said. “But I think the level of play and the eyes that I have on me now and the continuation of playing ball matters to me.”
The 6-foot-4, 300-pound NIU redshirt senior offensive linemen will sport a number that witnesses to Huskie football have become accustomed to – No. 73, worn last year by Max Scharping, who now is with the Houston Texans.
