DeKALB – The Tour of Champions Drum and Bugle Corps show is heading to Northern Illinois University’s Huskie Stadium.

Once the home of Drum Corps Midwest Championships, Huskie Stadium will again host this night of family entertainment.

The show will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Tour of Champions event series is a live entertainment format featuring the top groups in the world, giving fans the opportunity to immerse themselves in the drum corps experience. This show is sponsored by Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps from Rockford.

Local drum corps promoter Michael Embrey is excited to have the show return to DeKalb County.

“This event is a summer highlight for DeKalb and one of the best events for local revenue,” Embrey said in a news release. “Each show is like a major theater production ... or what I like to call ‘Broadway on Grass.’ ”

Performing corps include Madison Scouts of Madison, Wisconsin; Colts of Dubuque, Iowa; The Academy of Tempe, Arizona; Mandarins of Sacramento, California; Blue Stars of La Crosse, Wisconsin; The Cavaliers of Rosemont; Bluecoats of Canton, Ohio, and Phantom Regiment of Rockford.

Attendees are urged to arrive early; gates open at 5:30 p.m.
