SYCAMORE – Ashley Peterson’s summer came to an end earlier than she would have liked a year ago. Now she’s hit her stride in the wake of a knee injury that slowed her down but couldn’t halt her.
Sporting a bulky brace on her right knee, the Kishwaukee Valley Storm 18U team standout shows little other lingering effects of the torn ACL that set her back a year ago. By the end of spring, Peterson said she believes she was hitting her stride for Genoa-Kingston.
“Getting back into school was kind of a roller coaster, trying to get back into it,” Peterson said. “It was good to be at the end and feel confident going into the summer.”
