SYCAMORE — After their state title run, many of the graduating seniors from Sycamore are relishing their last ride together as members of the Kishwaukee Valley Storm U18 travel softball team in their home tournament, Storm Dayz, which opened up with pool play on Friday at the Sycamore Park District Sports Complex.
“It’s bittersweet because you’re starting it, but you also know it’s your last,” Storm catcher Mia Richards said. “You know you’re almost done, but we knew it was going to be fun. We’re just here to have a good time.”
Richards didn’t play in the first game, but came up with a two-run dinger in the final inning to help lead the Storm to an 8-3 victory in the second game of their pool play doubleheader. The Storm lost 3-1 in the first game against the BRW Blast and topped the Downers Grove Outlaws 8-3 in game two.
