After five-year run followed by three years away from boys team, Sycamore looks toward old leader
BATAVIA – A familiar face is back in the driver’s seat of the Sycamore boys basketball program.
Andrew Stacy has taken over the head coaching position, his second stint with the boys program as head coach. Since stepping down in 2016, Stacy had been an assistant with the girls program.
“When I stepped down, I had three daughters doing competitive gymnastics, and I was missing all their stuff, and I didn’t want to look back [in] 20 years and realize I wasn’t there for my own kids,” Stacy said after a tournament last week in Batavia. “As luck would have it, they’ve all gone a different way with their athletic careers, and the position opened itself up, and I decided to give it another whirl.”
