Community wins at “Art Is Something to Smile About” exhibit

More than 200 people attended the sixth annual “Art Is Something To Smile About” juried art show on April 26 at Collins Dental Group in Sycamore. The show featured submissions in seven categories by local high school artists. The Best in Show award went to Lindsy Franzene for her piece, "Kiddie Pool." Since the show, her painting also has won Best in Show at the D428 District Art Show and honorable mention at the Kishwaukee Art Show. Franzene is a DeKalb High School senior who plans to attend Clemson University where she will major in business/marketing. For more information, call Collins Dental Group at 815-758-3666.
