The Amboy softball team handed Indian Creek a 2-1 loss as the Timberwolves' season came to an end in a Class 1A Amboy Regional semifinal.

Jesika Lowe struck out seven and allowed four hits in six innings of work. Jodie Penman had a double and an RBI for the Timberwolves (8-14).

“She (Lowe) pitched her butt off,” Indian Creek coach Jeremy Lowe said. “The last doubleheader we had against them didn’t go so well, so to lose 2-1 against a solid team and pitcher like that, I’m pleased with the result.”

Amboy will face Marquette for the title at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Warner homers in DeKalb loss: Yorkvile handed DeKalb a 12-3 loss in both team's final Northern Illinois Big 12 softball game.

Mallory Warner went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double. Ashley Nelson had a double and two RBIs. Katelyn Kolkebeck added a hit and a run.
