DeKALB – Intermittent lane closures of Interstate 88 at South First Street are planned this week as bridge replacement work continues, according to a news release from the Illinois Tollway.
Weather permitting, one lane in both directions on I-88 is scheduled to close starting at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Intermittent, full closures of I-88, each lasting about 15 minutes, are scheduled to begin at midnight.
All lanes are scheduled to reopen by 7 a.m. Wednesday. Closures could occur Thursday, but likely only if weather does not permit Tuesday night closures, the release shows.
South First will be closed south of DeKalb through this summer as the bridge over the tollway is replaced. A detour is posted.
