To the Editor:
If a city is wishing to improve upon its reputation, the local university hoping to increase student enrollment, a path to move forward must remain free from obstruction. It appears to me, as I traversed Lincoln Highway a few days back, the DeKalb City Council doesn’t share my sense of foresight.
Not wishing to appear judgmental, but if one is responsible for the well-being of others, and eliminating funds provided for the removal of the freshly fallen snow, allow me to make this suggestion: place yourself within the comfort of a different employer.
But who ultimately must mind the store? Dear Mr. Mayor, it just takes the injury or death of one Northern Illinois University student walking naively in the traffic of the busy street of Lincoln Highway, and your end is a given. Don’t allow ignorance to shame you or cost you your bid for re-election.
