SYCAMORE – A DeKalb man accused of stealing a security camera from an apartment complex is being held in DeKalb County jail on $10,000 bond.

Phillip G. Tur-ner, 34, of the 300 block of First Street, has been charged with burglary, and if convicted, faces three to seven years in prison.

According to police records, Turner broke into an apartment complex Wednesday and stole a video surveillance camera from the maintenance group after he’d pulled wires from the camera.

Turner was free on bond for a number of other crimes in DeKalb County, including burglary, robbery and theft. Judge Philip Montgomery set his bond at $10,000, meaning Turner needs to come up with $1,000 to make bail. He said if he can call his family members, it might be possible.

Turner was arrested at his apartment.

He’s due back in court at 9 a.m. Thursday.
