KIRKLAND – Kirkland Public Library officials announced that the library recently received more than $1,200 in new books thanks to a grant and other donations, according to a news release.

Library officials said they were able to receive $1,200 in books from Cottage Grove, Oregon-based Pilcrow Foundation, which provides new hardcover children’s books to rural public libraries across the U.S. The Friends of the Kirkland Public Library also pledged $400 for new books.

The library received more than $400 in additional math and science books from Hal Berenson and Laura Ackerman, along with seven books from the publisher of the Maurice Valise book series, according to the release.
