Suzuki students perform at library

On Dec. 12, the Suzuki strings students of Ann Smelser joined the DeKalb Public Library Little Learners story time for music and stories related to Christmas bells. Six young musicians played and sang songs for the library program. The preschool children in attendance learned about the violin and the sounds it produces, and joined in the singing and playing of the songs with bell bracelets. Smelser is pictured assisting 4-year-old Ariella Vilmeus with the violin. The library hosts Little Learners at 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays and 10:30 and 10:50 a.m. Wednesdays for children ages 2 to 5.
