Volunteer Action Center announces new finance director

SYCAMORE – The Voluntary Action Center has a new finance director, according to a Monday news release.

Nate Kloster, of Sycamore, has been appointed to the position after spending 30 years in the accounting world, including nine years as the Chief Finance Officer for Sauk Valley Bank, and eight years as a controller for Castle Bank, a First National Bank affiliate out of Omaha.

Kloster also worked with DeKalb Genetics and Monsanto for a number of years, and has served in various capacities for the Sauk Valley Food Bank, Kishwaukee United Way and the Crossview Evangelical Free Church of America in DeKalb. He and his wife, Julie, are longtime residents of Sycamore.

Founded in 1974, VAC is a clearinghouse for local volunteers, with a mission to provide high quality nutrition and transportation services to DeKalb, Kendall, LaSalle, Bureau and Putnam counties according to the news release. The action center has offices in Sycamore, Sandwich, LaSalle, and Yorkville, with programs like TransVAC, MedVAC, the Kendall Area Transit, Meals on Wheels, Congregate Meals and Summer Food programs.
