Katie Jablonski has been a cornerstone for a Kaneland volleyball program that has won 111 games over the past four seasons.
She has received many honors, including Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference Player of the Year and two Kaneland team MVP awards. Jablonski can add the Daily Chronicle Girls Volleyball Player of the Year award to her résumé.
While the accolades and statistics piled up, Jablonski always has striven to keep a team-first perspective. While she appreciates the honors and is humbled by the opinions of her coaches, teammates and media, Jablonski said she gets more excited when teammates do well on and off of the floor.
“I’d take all of my memories with my team over a plaque,” Jablonski said. “I know how I play. I love seeing everyone on my team do well. At awards night, I was so hyped seeing my teammates win awards. I just want to see everyone succeed.”
