DeKALB – The NIU Philharmonic Orchestra will perform a selection of pieces in a concert scheduled for 8 p.m. Wednesday at Boutell Memorial Concert Hall, inside the Music Building at 1425 Lincoln Highway.
The NIU Philharmonic has a long, well-earned reputation for excellence and is thriving as an integral part of the Northern Illinois University School of Music.
Compositions to be performed at Wednesday’s concert include Joseph Haydn’s “Amida Overture,” Louis-Hector Berlioz’s “Hungarian March,” Leonard Bernstein’s “Fanfare,” “Danse Bacchanale” by Camille Saint-Saëns, and Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 1.”
Tickets cost $5 for adults, $3 for students, and school of music students are free. Tickets can be bought online at niu.edu/music, or at the door.
