DeKALB – The DeKalb-Sycamore co-op came up just short in its dual meet with IMSA, losing 85-81.
Kristina Biundo took first place in the 100-meter backstroke. Elizabeth White and Biundo took first and second, respectively, in the 200-meter freestyle. They also won the 100-meter freestyle relay. However, with only 12 swimmers on the varsity team, assistant coach Emily Waller said that it is tough to make up the lost points.
“We’re definitely disappointed to lose such a close one,” Waller said. “Our girls definitely battled. They just had the depth on us. We won most of the events, but not having people to score fourth and fifth really hurts us."
