DeKALB – The defensive line proved to be a catalyst for Northern Illinois in its 24-16 victory over Central Michigan on Saturday.
Of the 76 recorded tackles that the Huskies (1-2, 1-0 Mid American Conference) made, more than a quarter of them were made by a defensive lineman. The Huskies had five tackles for loss and three sacks in the game. All three sacks were credited to the defensive line.
The unit also was fully healthy for the first time this season with Josh Corcoran back in uniform for the Huskies. Corcoran injured his foot early in camp but said the injury is in the past now.
Corcoran had a sack and two solo tackles in his first game back.
