Deacon Carla Vanatta of Genoa will introduce a six-session study titled “Faith for all Seasons – Dealing with Life Changes from a Faith Perspective” beginning Sept. 17.
The group will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. every other Monday through Nov. 26 at the NW Medicine Community Room, 599 Pearson Drive in Genoa, behind First Midwest Bank on Route 23.
Focusing on Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8 (Everything has its time), the sessions include “Life is Change;” “Dealing with the Changes of Growing Up/Growing Older;” “Change Happens When Families Grow or Decrease in Size;” “Changing Cities, Jobs, or Churches;” “As the World Turns – Changes in our Culture;” and “The Future.”
This small-group study is offered as the first open activity of a developing ELCA Lutheran Christian mission in the Genoa area called “Genoa Intersections,” inviting people to experience “a church without walls,” a safe place to explore life and faith, develop relationships, and use your gifts in the world.
Information about Genoa Intersections is available online at www.GenoaIntersections.org, and on the Genoa Intersections Facebook page.
Vanatta moved to Genoa four years ago with her husband, Ron. Both are long-term staff at Salem Lutheran Church in Sycamore and are enjoying getting acquainted with the Genoa community.
