IOWA CITY, Iowa – September started with a bang for Nick Niemann.
The Sycamore alum made his first collegiate start for Iowa in a 33-7 win against Northern Illinois on Saturday. He made a game-changing tackle on a fourth-down run. He got the win against a team he's very familiar with, since his dad was an assistant coach with them for five years.
But found the cherry on the already large sundae – his day started finding out his brother, Ben, and undrafted free agent with Kansas City made the 53-man roster for the Chiefs.
"That was awesome. I'm so happy for him," Niemann said. "It's been a goal of his since we were in elementary school and started playing. I'm so happy for him. Definitely made the day better."
