DeKALB – The Ellwood House terraces and gardens offer a picturesque setting for an evening of fine wine, unique appetizers, desserts and live music. The Ellwood House Association will host its annual fall fundraiser, Wine on the Terrace, from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 22.
The wines will be selected by John McIntyre of Hy-Vee Wine and Spirits, with Hy-Vee Catering providing tasty appetizers and desserts. The evening also will feature a silent auction of elegant offerings and gift certificates, self-guided first-floor tours of the historic Ellwood Mansion and live music from Craig Mathey.
Wine on the Terrace is sponsored by Resource Bank, Ron Klein, Sharp Architects, Thecla & Richard Cooler, Friends of the Jerry L. Johns Literacy Clinic, Ameriprise Financial, Foster & Buick Attorneys at Law, Anderson Funeral Home and Northern Rehab Physical Therapy Specialists. Live music at Wine on the Terrace is supported by the Farny R. Wurlitzer Foundation Fund.
Tickets for Wine on the Terrace cost $50 and should be bought in advance. They are available online at www.ellwoodhouse.org, by phone at 815-756-4609, in person in the Ellwood House Museum Visitor Center or the Sycamore Hy-Vee Wine and Spirits Department. Only 200 tickets will be available.
