Kite Fest set to take off Sunday

Kite enthusiasts of all ages are invited to Northern Illinois University’s North 40 field on Sunday to enjoy a day of kiting and kids' activities. The 13th annual DeKalb Kite Festival will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the field at Lucinda Avenue and Kishwaukee Drive, adjacent to Anderson Hall. Admission is free; parking is $3, cash only. The festival will offer kite-making for kids, a candy drop and games. Spectators are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to watch the kites take flight. Food will be available for sale.
