SYCAMORE – The Sycamore girls volleyball team rallied after dropping the first game of the match to beat Stillman Valley, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23.
The turning point of the match may have been early in Game 3, when Sycamore (1-1) went down, 4-0, early. The Sycamore serve receive managed to stop the bleeding and eventually caught up and took control of the game against the Cardinals (1-1).
“You never really want to go down that many points early,” Spartans coach Jennifer Charles said. “The biggest change was that we shifted some people in the lineup. I put some more defensive specialists in just to see, because as we get further down the road, I’m going to need to rest my pins a little bit. It was good to see that I could count on a couple of those defensive specialists like Hannah Vogel to come in. She give Kylie Feuerbach a breather from the back row and did a nice job.”
