A story on page 8 of Saturday's Daily Chronicle about Jeff Keicher's appointment to be the next state representative from Illinois' 70th District misstated Keicher's plans to decline compensation for the job. Keicher plans to decline health care and pension benefits for the job, but not the part-time, $67,000-a-year salary.
A story on page X of Saturday's edition about the death of former DeKalb police officer Nick Harold in a fall from a roof misstated the number of years he served on the force. He was a police officer for 24 years. Also, his son, Sean Harold, said that he knew that his father had died when he saw an empty stretcher being wheeled back to an ambulance at the scene of his father's fall.
The Daily Chronicle regrets the errors.
