Library provides DeKalb walking tour

DeKALB – DeKalb Public Library will offer a free walking tour of downtown DeKalb from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. The tour leader will be library employee and local historian Steve Bigolin.

Learn what historic structures have been or will be replaced by the Cornerstone DeKalb and Plaza DeKalb buildings. Why is there a wrought iron gate at the front corner of the one-time Chronicle Building? Where is the Phineas Vaughan’s horseshoe to be found? Has the Memorial Clock always been in the park at First and Lincoln? Why does the name “Donna” appear on the tank in that park? Find out the answers to these questions and more.

Reservations are required and space is limited to 12 participants. To reserve a spot, call the library at 815-756-9568, ext. 2150, or visit the Adult Services desk.
