Train passengers wait to for a Metra train to pull into the Joliet Station Wednesday, Oct. 14, in downtown Joliet.

Train service has been restored after police activity at Ogilvie Transportation Center brought the station's transport schedule to a standstill.

Affected Union Pacific North, Union Pacific West and Union Pacific Northwest trains were restored shortly after noon Wednesday, according to tweets from Metra sent at 12:18 p.m.

Trains could not enter or leave Ogilvie Transportation Center Wednesday morning due to "police activity," Metra officials said in tweets sent at 10:53 a.m. and 11:47 a.m. Wednesday.

Some media outlets reported Chicago police were investigating unattended luggage left in the station.
