Letter: Relying exclusively on wind, solar energy is possible

To the Editor:

If you are one of those people who do not think we are in a "Climate Change," then I'm guessing you were not here on Earth. Well, I hope you enjoyed your "Space Trip Vacation." Our past spring-winter-summer-fall-spring season was a time I'll never forget.

I recently saw an article about this problem by former Vice President Al Gore.

When asked if we are making progress in our fight against climate change, he gave a "No" and a "Yes" reply. No, he does not think enough people are doing something to help. But he gave a "yes" for the improvements in the solar and wind solutions.

Here is my simple solution: All vehicles should be smaller and electrical. All homes should be heated with electric. But, all electric power should come from solar and wind devices – no gas or coal-fired outfits supplying our power!

This is possible! Come on, neighbors, write to ComEd and our politicians and yell at them about our situation! Wind and sunshine are free. But we need more of those devices to capture that stuff and get clean and safe air back!

Our children (and the future) need it!
