SYCAMORE – A 23-year-old Genoa man has turned himself in on a criminal sexual abuse charge and promptly posted bail to be released from jail, according to a news release from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and jail staff.
If convicted, Aaron M. Godsey, of the 9300 block of Cherry Valley Road. could face three to seven years in prison.
The release says Godsey approached deputies in the sheriff’s office parking lot about 9 p.m. Friday, saying he thought a warrant was active for his arrest. The warrant, issued Friday according to court records, had $25,000 attached, and Godsey posted $2,500 bail to be released about 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
