DeKalb started the game hot, scoring in the sixth minute of the 35-minute half. Siobhan Gallagher fed the ball to Maddie Hill, who fired a rocket into the back of the net.
The Barbs added two more in the second half, with Christina Ryzhov connecting less than three minutes in. Six minutes later, Mckenna Wallin scored on a shot that keeper Haley Rich deflected with two hands. It rolled past Rich about 5 yards into the corner of the net.
Hamilton said Gallagher’s pass set a tone for the game.
“Just Siobhan seeing that pass was very good,” Hamilton said. “The goal was great, but the ability to see who was the right option there really gave us the belief we can play soccer.”
