DeKALB – The DeKalb Public Library will host “Maker Mondays” from 7 to 8 p.m. in March.
Participants will use TinkerCAD and 3-D printers to design objects relating to popular trends and upcoming holidays.
On March 5 and 12, attendees can prepare for St. Patrick’s Day by designing a 3-D four-leaf clover. On March 19 and 26, using TinkerCAD and InkScape, students will learn how to take 2-D line art and convert it into a 3-D object in order to make their own stamp.
After the classes, library staff will print the objects to be picked up at a later date.
These classes and the accompanying 3-D printing are free. Participants should be at least 8 years old and have basic computer skills. No experience with 3-D design or printing is required.
Sign-up begins 15 minutes before class in the Nancy D. Castle Collaboration Studio.
