Troop 16 Scouts receive Ad Altare Dei medal

Three Scouts from Boy Scout Troop 16, chartered by Federated Church in Sycamore, recently earned the Ad Altare Dei religious medal. The purpose of the Ad Altare Dei (to the altar of God) program is to help Catholic youth develop a fully Christian way of life in the faith community through the seven sacraments. Pictured are Jeremy Peterson, Joe Fuss and Aiden Zibrun with Deacon Mike Zibrun. Deacon Zibrun led the Scouts through the process and presented each of them with the medal at a ceremony at Cathedral of Saint Peter in Rockford. Joe belongs to St. Mary Church in DeKalb. Jeremy and Aiden belong to St. Mary’s Church in Sycamore. For information, contact Scoutmaster Tom Peterson at TPeterson10@me.com or 815-546-0894.
