Immanuel Lutheran Church, 511 Russell Road, in DeKalb will host midweek Lenten services at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesdays. Dinners will be served from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m.
The church will participate in a “pulpit exchange,” where pastors from the local circuit will rotate each Wednesday.
This year’s Lenten series will revisit the Places of the Passion.
The focus will not be on the physical locations of the Lord’s passion, but on the spiritual wonders of his work: the places where he demonstrates his strength in the midst of our weakness, his timeless love in the midst of our temporal darkness.
On Ash Wednesday, Feb. 14, the Rev. Marty Marks of Immanuel will deliver the sermon “A Place at the Table for You,” based on Luke 22: 39-46.
The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League will host the soup and sandwich supper. There will be a free-will offering.
